The participants in a uniquely American sport took time Friday ahead of their event at Golden One Center to honor some local heroes and see a demonstration of their skills.
The Professional Bull Riders want to "Celebrate America" in 2017, so they took one of their bulls to the Sacramento Metro Fire training center in Rancho Cordova. That's where PBR's announcer, Matt West, says they could celebrate the men and women who make America what it is-- firefighters.

After "Domino" - a pretty mean-looking bull - weighed in at 14-hundred-75 pounds, members of Metro Fire's technical rescue team showed off their skills by rappelling from a ladder truck and helicopter on to the scale until they had enough to outweigh the bull.
The Professional Bull Riders are at Golden One Center all weekend.
