Some Deleting Uber App Following Immigration Ban

President Trump's immigration ban is affecting two San Francisco-based ride sharing services as users are deleting the Uber app in favor of Lyft.

Lyft officials announced over the weekend that the company would be donating one-million dollars to the American Civil Liberties Union over the next four years to fight the president's executive order regarding immigration, prompting cheers from riders angry about the ban.

Riders are also angry with Uber due to rumors that it is supporting Trump because the company continued sending cars to JFK Airport during a taxi strike there while passengers from the affected countries were being detained.  For its part, Uber has announced plans to assist its drivers currently stuck outside the U.S. by providing a three-million-dollar legal defense fund and compensating them for lost earnings.
