The Sacramento Region Community Foundation announced on Monday the creation of a fund to support "on-the-ground relief and other needs that arise as a result of the unprecedented Oroville Spillway emergency."

The foundation is attempting raise money to help the nonprofit organizations responding to the needs of evacuees and is encouraging donations to the fund at the Foundation's website www.sacregcf.org/oroville.
Foundation officials says all donations will support shelter, bedding, food, clothing, supplies, and transportation to evacuees. Grants from the Foundation's fund will go to first responders in Colusa, Glenn, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Tehama, and Yolo counties.
