The rain is not stopping repair work on the Oroville Dam's emergency spillway, and State Department of Water Resources acting director Bill Croyle says they have made plenty of room in the lake to handle inflows to Lake Oroville from the most recent storm.
While progress on repairing erosion on the emergency spillway gives water managers confidence it is more stable, Croyle warns the possibility of evacuation is still there.
The Butte County Sheriff says his department has worked with Cal Fire to come up with alternate evacuation routes and alerts that would go out sooner should there be a need for another evacuation.
