Head of ICE is Coming to Sacramento

In light of widespread concerns about immigration enforcement and talk of sanctuary cities, Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones will be hosting a community forum with the acting director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) department next Tuesday.

Jones organized the forum to offer Californians a chance to hear first-hand how officials are handling undocumented immigrants.

"I wanted to have a community forum on immigration and tell people what law enforcement does in the community," explains Jones. "We don't enforce immigration. I want to actually get information from ICE about what their priorities are. They aren't going into communities and doing large wide-scale sweeps."

Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan is coming to Sacramento to join the sheriff at next Tuesday's public forum.

Attendees will have an opportunity to hear directly from Sheriff Scott Jones and Acting Director Homan. There will also be opportunity for questions and answers from the attendees.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Dr. Ephraim Williams Family Life Center, 4036 14th Ave. For more information click here.
