Sacto Mayor Darrell Steinberg Does Not "Trust" Immigration Forum

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is taking aim at sanctuary cities. Sessions said Monday that policies protecting immigrant felons from immigration laws must not be allowed to continue, and federal funding might be pulled if they do continue.

There is a community forum being held tonight by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department and the nation's top immigration official to inform the public about what it means to be a sanctuary city.  Mayor Darrell Steinberg has said he is opposed to the presence of the acting head of the U-S Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency at the forum.

The forum will take place at the Sacramento County Youth gym from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.  Mayor Steinberg, labor unions, faith leaders and pro-immigrant groups are planning a rally before prior to the forum 4:30 p.m.

Mayor Steinberg spoke about the forum, his thoughts on illegal immigration, and Sacramento's stand as a sanctuary city during KFBK Morning News on Tuesday.
