Early Morning House Fire Displaces South Sac Family

Five people and a dog are lucky to have escaped the flames of an early morning house fire in South Sacramento on Thursday. The home is badly damaged and those people will have to look for a new place to live.

The Sacramento Fire Department got reports of flames spewing from a home in the 23-hundred block of 51st avenue just before 6 o'clock in the morning.  A department spokesman says initial reports suggested somebody was trapped in the home, but that turned out not to be the case, but flames did jump to the home next door before being put out.
