LIVE NOW: Senate Committee Considers SCOTUS Nominee

The Senate Judiciary Committee is considering the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court.  Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa says Democrats are incorrect if they believe Gorsuch is not qualified.

The Republican-led panel is expected to approve Gorsuch on a party-line vote and recommend his confirmation to the full Senate.  Democrats are threatening a filibuster, but Republicans could use a rules change to get around that.  President Trump nominated Gorsuch to replace Justice Antonin Scalia, who died more than a year ago.  The 49-year old Gorsuch is a federal judge in Denver.
