The United Way's Women in Philanthropy are holding their annual drive to gather towels, luggage and toiletries for more than 260 foster teenagers who are about to achieve independence.
“They have very meager belongings,” said Lorrie Wilson. “A towel set to you and me is not a big deal. Neither is shampoo. But to them it’s huge because they don’t have a lot of money.”
Donations can be dropped off at the United Way building on Old Placerville Road between now and Thursday evening - or you can place an order through their Amazon wish-list by clicking here.
The Women in Philanthropy are also looking for volunteers to help package the donations Thursday evening between 5-7:30pm.
