Comic and Coffee Combined For Latest Downtown Dreamer

The dream of opening a business in downtown Sacramento now a reality for two local entrepreneurs thanks to the Downtown Sacramento Foundation’s Calling All Dreamers competition. Co-owners Laura Benson and Neil Estaris, winners of the 2016 Calling All Dreamers competition, opened a downtown Oblivion Coffee and Comics shop Wednesday morning.

Benson says she is just excited to be part of the growing downtown Sacramento community. "So, you come and get coffee, buy your comics, sit down and read (them)," Benson says of the atmosphere in the new business. "You can just geek out, whatever you want to do.  We just wanted a place that's comfortable to just hangout and talk about geeky stuff in general."

At Oblivion Coffee and Comics, comic books fans can engage in spirited debates about superhero films while sipping caffeinated beverages from Chocolate Fish Coffee, plus sample pastries and artisan toast along with vegan options.
