John McGinness Explains Reasons For Leaving Picnic Day Investigation

Former Sacramento sheriff and current KFBK radio host John McGinness is leaving the inquiry into Davis' Picnic Day clash. McGinness was hired to join a probe looking into claims that included excessive force and racial bias during the April 22nd incident in which three men - all black - were arrested.

Last Friday, McGinness sparked outrage when he told his radio audience that African-Americans did "much, much, much, much better before" the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which outlawed segregation and discrimination based on race.

He spoke about his comments and the decision to step away from the Picnic Day investigation with Amy and Dan during the KFBK Morning News on Tuesday.
