The sweep targeted criminal foreign nationals, illegal re-entrants and immigration fugitives. Arrests were made all across Southern California, from Inland Empire counties to Santa Barbara near the central coast. Authorities said the operation was to "locate, arrest, and ultimately deport at-large convicted criminals."
