Assembly Approves Clean Energy Fleet Vehicles Bill

A greenhouse gas bill that requires the State of California to increasingly replace diesel fleet vehicles with zero-emission vehicles is headed to the State Senate. Ed Chau, Democratic Assemblyman of Monterey Park, said his bill received 51 yes votes in the 80-member assembly yesterday.

Assembly Bill 739 stipulates at least 15% of the heavy-duty vehicles bought by the state be zero-emission vehicles by 2025, with a 30% target to be met by 2030.
