Hiker Rescued By CHP Helicopter

A man in his twenties fell 20-30 feet while climbing in the Twin Crags area near Tahoe City. A CHP helicopter was called to assist.

Upon arrival, North Lake Tahoe fire advised the helicopter crew that the victim had sustained serious injuries to his lower extremities. He was hoisted out in a Bauman rescue bag and taken to a waiting CareFlight transport.

He was taken to a Reno hospital for treatment. Luckily, the victim's friend had a cell phone and contacted 9-1-1. That saved valuable time.
