Spokesman Stephen Walsh said six volunteers will be in Texas providing a variety of services for which they have have received training.  However, another half dozen volunteers are being held back to possibly help with relief efforts which might needed due to a wildfire burning in Oregon right now.

Walsh said that the remaining Sacramento region Red Cross volunteers may head to the Gulf Coast in a matter of days.  The situation will be re-evaluated on Sunday morning and decision made on where and when those volunteers will be used.

There is a need for cash donations to the Red Cross, according to Walsh.  You can make a donation if you wish by clicking here.
