SMUD is hosting an electric vehicle (EV) showcase at this weekend’s Sacramento International Auto Show at Cal Expo. The event will feature approximately 10 electric vehicles from manufacturers such as Tesla, BMW, Nissan, Ford and Chevrolet.
Show attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of SMUD and SacEV electric vehicle experts and learn more about what it’s like to own and drive an EV in the Sacramento region.
SMUD's Jonathon Tudor says people who've never driven an electric car will get their chance to ride and drive.
"So you come in and fill out a little paperwork, show us your drivers license and you can actually drive the vehicle of your choice to kind of see what it's like," Tudor said.
Tudor says one of the common questions they get is about vehicle range.
"The cars are able to go a lot further than they used to go. The Chevy Bolt can go 200 miles on a single charge."
Attendees will also have a chance to enter to win a free two-year lease on a Nissan LEAF.
