You can take your family to see some of the world's most famous landmarks... All right here in our own backyard.
The motif for this season's Global Winter Wonderland at Cal Expo is "Celebrate Holidays Around The World." So, the large, bright, colorful displays include some new ones from Europe, Asia and Africa.
Among them, the Greek Parthenon and a Chinese temple along with the return of some old favorites - Paris's Eiffel Tower and India's Taj Mahal and, of course, the traditional holiday displays.
Your first chance to see it is this Saturday, but Global Winter Wonderland event Coordinator, Joanna Ricken says putting it together starts months in advance with pen and paper.
"So designing these lanterns," explains Ricken, "engineers and artisans come out with the steel and the wire, and they weld and they put these together. They're actually on-site about six-to-eight weeks before we open."
Global Winter Wonderland is open until January 7th.
