Tehama County Sheriff deputies are at the scene of a reported shooting in the area of Rancho Tehama in Tehama County.
Sheriff’s Investigators confirm that there are at least five deaths, including the suspected shooter, and ten other people are hospitalized, two of those are boys.
The investigators said that the shooting started at one location then moved to near Tehama Elementary School.
Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston says multiple shots were fired about 8 a.m. at Rancho Tehama School.
"I know that we have (airlifted) a number of students," Johnston said. "I know that the school's been cleared. I know that we have children that were attending school in a safe location at this time."
The school has been cleared and the children are in a safe location.
Johnston says one assault rifle and two handguns were recovered from the suspect.
