An employee of a Davis assisted living facility was arrested last week after allegedly abusing a 96-year-old resident.
Sgt. Dan Powell said administrators of Atria Covell Gardens called police Thursday morning after another worker found the woman inside her room with her hands bound with a belt.
Surveillance video and information from another employee led police to identify 25-year-old Han Zhe Zhao as the suspect.
“Through investigation it was discovered that Mr. Zhao was binding the victim to the bed,” Powell said. "The arrest charges are false imprisonment."
Zhao was arrested that night at his workplace and booked into the Yolo County Jail. Lt. Doroshov says police are still investigating the incident.
