Matt Lauer is out at NBC effective immediately over sexual misconduct allegations. An emotional Savannah Guthrie made the announcement this morning on the "Today" show, choking up as she talked about her partner's firing.
NBC News Chief Andrew Lack sent a memo to staff overnight saying the network had received a complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by the long-time "Today" Show co-host. In his memo, Lack noted that while this was the first complaint about Lauer, other evidence presented shows it may not have been an isolated incident.
The 59-year-old Lauer had hosted "Today" since 1998.
