Family members confirm an 89-year-old woman who was missing for several days was found dead Sunday in Sacramento.
A 12-year-old was riding their bicycle and found the body of Carol Matsui in a drainage canal along Iona Way.
Matsui's family believes she slipped and fell into the canal and because the water was so deep, she likely couldn't climb out.
The Sheriff’s Department issued a silver alert Wednesday for Matsui after she was last seen leaving her home in the 7500 block of Sunnyside Way in the Vintage Park neighborhood.
