WATCH: Tesla Starman In Space

The numbers have been crunched and it turns out SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster won't make it as far out into the solar system as initially thought.

The car, along with its Starman dummy driver, was carried into orbit Tuesday atop the world's most powerful rocket - SpaceX's Falcon Heavy.  Musk later said the electric car had overshot its trajectory and would miss out on orbiting the Sun and Mars, instead heading on to the Asteroid Belt.  The belt begins roughly 330 million miles from the Sun and Musk's Tesla is only expected to travel about 160 million miles away from the Sun.
