A mother and son are dead in what's being called a freak accident. 50-year-old San Francisco resident Olga Perkovic and her 7-year-old son were skiing in Kirkwood.
When they returned to their vacation condo, a chunk of snow fell off the roof and buried them under three feet of powder. A passerby noticed ski gloves sticking out from under the snow and called authorities.
The mother and son were transported to the hospital, but were pronounced dead.
