United Way Collecting Towels, Toiletries and Luggage for Foster Youth

A Sacramento-area United Way organization is asking for your help in preparing dozens of foster kids for independence.

The Women's United action group is in need of donations for 260 local children who are about to be released from foster care.  There’s a great need for luggage and towel sets.

“Their personal items are sometimes placed in a box or garbage bag, so we like to provide them with some luggage,” said the United Way’s Katherine Elorduy.  “Sometimes they have to use their clothes to dry off when getting out of the shower.  That’s why towel sets are so important.”

It's easy to donate to Sacramento County's Foster Youth Emancipation Basket program.
