Stevante Clark Released From Jail; Felony Charges Downgraded

Stevante Clark, whose brother Stephon Clark was shot dead by police last month, will be released from custody after being formally charged with four criminal counts, including assault with a deadly weapon and making a death threat.

The Sacramento County DA's Office downgraded those two counts to misdemeanors.

The 25-year-old was released on his own recognizance with conditions that include avoiding contact with a woman against whom he allegedly made a death threat.

Clark is due to return to court May 9.
