Big Day of Giving Allowing Donors To Pre-Schedule Gifts

Sacramento's Big Day of Giving is less than a week away and, this year, it’s even easier to help non-profit organizations across the region.

Hundreds of non-profits across Sacramento, Yolo, Placer and El Dorado Counties have signed up to participate in this year's on-line giving challenge – but you don't have to wait until Thursday to support your favorite charity.

“You can now schedule your donation ahead of time,” said Linda Beech Cutler of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. “It will not actually process until May 3rd, but it’s a convenience for you if you want to make your donations over the weekend.”

Almost 600 participating non-profits are participating, including organizations focused on housing and human services, education, and arts and culture – like Sacramento's B Street Theatre.

“A donation to B Street will support the theatrical programming that you’ve grown to love at B Street over the years as well as our new music programs, our experimental work upstairs and all of our childrens programming throughout Northern California,” said the theatre’s Colette Rice.

Last year's Big Day of Giving raised more than $7.2 million for Sacramento-area non-profits.  Organizers hope to see this year's event top that total.
