72-year-old Joseph DeAngelo was again in an orange jumpsuit and handcuffed to a wheelchair for the hearing on a motion, filed late Tuesday by his public defender, Diane Howard.
Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Michael Sweet told lawyers on both sides he needed time to review their motions before deciding whether to allow investigators to proceed with their search warrant.
He'll revisit the matter Thursday morning.
