From the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department:
On April 8, 2018, at 9:27 a.m. the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 150 block of Brannan Island Road within south Sacramento County in regards to human remains being located by a fisherman in the Mokelumne River. Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation. At the onset of the investigation, the age, race, and sex of the victim were unknown. Detectives have discovered the remains belong to a Caucasian female or a Hispanic female with a light complexion. She would have been approximately 25-40 years old with shoulder-length brown or auburn colored hair. Detectives believe she would have been 5'02” to 5’06” tall with a medium build. The female had double ear piercings in each ear, however, there were no earrings present at the time of her discovery. The female had a grey tongue stud with round ball ends. She also has a noticeable gap (approximately 1/8") between her upper front two teeth along with a similar gap between her lower two front teeth. Detectives believe she may have gone missing sometime in March 2018.
NEW INFORMATION: A forensic sketch artist has assisted in this investigation and produced a rendering of the victims front teeth (attached). A photograph of the victim's tongue stud is also attached. Detectives are seeking the public's assistance in identifying any current missing persons, or people who may be missing that match the aforementioned description.
