The risk of wildfires in the Bay Area is on the rise tonight through tomorrow morning. The National Weather Service warns that a slight chance of thunderstorms could spark fires throughout the region.
Forecasters say if the storms do develop, they will most likely affect the North and East Bay areas with the greatest risk being in the higher elevations. Very little rain is expected, but gusty winds being forecast could spread fires caused by lightning.
