2-Year-Old Dies After Getting Stuck In A Hot Car

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is still investigating the death of a two-year-old boy who was found inside a hot car in south Sacramento Sunday night.

No one is being charged right now in the death of the little boy found unresponsive across the street from his home on Everbloom Way near Bradshaw Road.

Sacramento Sheriff's Sgt. Shaun Hampton also says it'll take a while to get the results from a scheduled autopsy, so they're left with a big question: how did the boy end up in the hot car?

"It is possible that the child entered the vehicle on his own," says Hampton. "We are looking into that."

He was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital. The investigation is going to take some time.

"These investigations are complex and there are a lot of moving parts, a lot of things that need to be determined," says Hampton.

Anyone with information about the family or what happened is asked to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
