2018 Unite the Right Rally In Charlottseville, VA

Just one day after police officers and activists were involved in a tense standoff at the University of Virginia's campus, the city of Charlottesville, Virginia is marking Sunday's one year anniversary of the Unite the Right Rally and counter protest turned deadly.  32-year-old Heather Heyer was among the counter protesters was in the crowd which was rammed by a car.  A short time later a Virginia state police helicopter which had been monitoring the protest crashed, killing two troopers.

On Sunday, August 12, 2018, another Unite the Right Rally was scheduled, and counter protesters were expected to gather in large numbers.
