Sacramento State Braces For First Day Of School Traffic

It was the first day of classes at Sacramento State and you may have noticed some delays on your morning commute.

Sac State has about 30,000 students and it's when it back to school time, motorists feel it. Chief of Police at the university Mark Iwasa says traffic inside the campus was nothing to write home about, but area roadways were a different story.

"Some of that has to do with construction and people trying to find their preferred route in."

Chief Iwasa says the Folsom Corridor between Howe Aveneue and 65th Street is a big problem right now.

"Major roadwork going on there. causing some delays," says Iwasa. "That area should be avoided if at all possible."

He says so far today, his department hasn't received any complaints about traffic issues.
