Blaze Breaks Out Near Tahoe National Forest

The North Fire is forcing the closures of Interstate 80 ramps and several campgrounds in the Tahoe National Forest. 

The Placer County wildfire that's burning south of Emigrant Gap has shut down the Emigrant Gap and Yuba Gap ramps to and from I-80. Campgrounds that are also evacuated and closed include Onion Valley, North Fork, Tunnel Mills, Lodgepole, Silvertip, and Sunflower. 

The blaze, which broke out yesterday evening, is reported to be 500 acres in size with ten-percent containment. 

No injuries are being reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
