Sacramento Firefighters Climb 110 Flights Of Stairs To Honor 9/11 Victims

Remembrances today all over northern California on this 17th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.

Firefighters met at Renaissance Tower in downtown Sacramento to honor first responders who lost their lives in lower Manhattan.

Kevin Gilley from North Tahoe Fire is proud to carry the name of one of the fallen as he climbs the tower today.

"We're here to pay our respects and make sure the name of every lost firefighter that day gets carried to the top of this building," says Gilley.

Crowds also came to CalExpo this morning where a permanent tribute to the victims of 9/11 is on display. Ceremonies are planned all over the state and across the nation today.
