Black Lives Matter, Police Protest Planned Day After Deputy Killed

The day after a Sacramento sheriff's deputy was shot a killed and another injured, Black Lives Matter protesters and counter-demonstrators are shutting down J Street near a law enforcement conference.

BLM supporters had dozens of makeshift caskets to symbolize people who have died from police shootings. Sacramento Police moved in an announced on loud speakers that they were declaring the protest an "unlawful assembly" and said if demonstrators did not disperse, they would start making arrests.

Protesters, including members of the Clark family and others whose relatives had been killed by law enforcement, planned a daylong program of speeches outside the convention center.
