Authorities Make Arrest In Decades Old NorCal Rapist Case

The northern California man accused of at least ten sexual assaults over a 15-year period is under arrest thanks to DNA evidence.

Sacramento County authorities say 58-year-old Roy Charles Waller of Benicia is believed to be the infamous Nor Cal Rapist.

He was arrested yesterday at his work place in Berkeley. Waller has been connected to a series of rapes that occurred across six counties between 1991 and 2006.

Sacramento County DA Anne Marie Schubert says the link was made through genetic genealogy.

The alleged rapes took place in Sacramento, Yolo, Butte, Solano, Contra Costa, and Sonoma counties.  Waller is being held without bail in the Sacramento County Jail, and will be arraigned on Monday afternoon.
