I have good news and bad news. The good news: Paul Robins is coming back to radio---and more good news---he's coming to iHeartMedia Sacramento---just two doors down the hall from where Kitty and I bring you The KFBK Afternoon News every weekday. Beginning Friday, February 1, Paul will be at the same spot on the dial where he was half of the wildly successful "Paul and Phil Show" years ago---92.5 FM.
That, you may know by now, is a new radio station known as The Breeze, and it's Sacramento's #1 for relaxing favorites at work.
Paul will be on weekday afternoons from 3 to 7. And there's the bad news: I can only listen to the first hour of his show, because Kitty and I go on at 4.
Paul is just coming off a long run on the morning news at FOX40 and beginning an exciting new career at William Jessup University, leading their Digital Communication and Design Bachelor of Arts program. iHeartMedia Sacramento is even building a studio on the campus so Paul can do his show from there.
I haven't known Paul long, but have had the pleasure of working with him several times as he filled in for Kitty on vacation relief last year. He's a great guy, a real talent, a broadcaster's broadcaster...and I'm thrilled, as a guy who started out in radio as a youngster and took a long detour in TV news before coming back to my first love, to see Paul doing the same.
Normally, I'd be reluctant to share your listening time in the afternoons. But if it's Paul, that's fine. So go ahead, set a pushbutton for 93.1 and one for 92.5---or tell Alexa to be ready to hop back and forth.
Welcome home, Paul!
