Soggy Bottom Ranch Foundation Seeks Donations

The local non-profit, Soggy Bottom Ranch Foundation is launching its largest military veteran support animal welfare division and they are asking for the public's help in making it a success.

As the organization prepares to launch its Camp Animal first responder division, they are seeking to raise $2.5 million in seed money, to ramp up their abilities to save human and animal lives during natural disasters.

"It's essential that we raise the $2.5 million seed money as fast as possible so we can deploy resources and people to save not only human but animal lives," said Patrick Marshall, CEO of the Soggy Bottom Ranch Foundation.

He's hoping KFBK listeners can donate to their organization.

"That expedites our ability to go ahead and formally launch this division which will be Sacramento-based and Sacramento supported," said Marshall.

Camp Animal is a military veteran service organization that uses disaster response in saving humans and animals to help reintegrate veterans back into civilian life.

By pairing the skills and experience of military veterans with first responders, Marshall says Camp Animal will provide the greatest service and impact possible.

Besides monetary donations, Marshall says they're also in need of vehicle donations.

"Something along the lines of a Camry, maybe a Toyota or an electric vehicle," Marshall said.

They are also in need of a small motor home and two flatbed tow trucks.

To make a donation, you can go to any Wells Fargo Bank branch and provide the Soggy Bottom Ranch Foundation name and account number 8200883232.

Marshall says 100-percent of the donation is tax deductible.
