Empty The Shelters Event October 12th

Would you like to give a good home to a pet? There's an event coming up on October 12th you need to know about. It's "Empty The Shelters". 14 Northern California shelters are participating, along with 111 other organizations in 26 states.

Sponsored by the Bissell Pet Foundation, it gives you the chance to adopt a pet for just 25 dollars. The foundation pays the remaining cost. All adoptable pets available during Empty the Shelters will be microchipped and spayed/neutered. BPF requires that all microchips must be registered to the adopter before they leave, to increase the chance of pets reuniting with their owners, if lost. A microchip registration and license fee may apply—costs may vary by location.

The Empty the Shelters program began in 2016 to capitalize on the foundation’s mission to find every pet a loving home. ETS aims to shed light on pet homelessness across the county and encourage families to adopt a pet and save a life. So far, more than 23-thousand pets have been placed in homes around the country.
