California Allowing Some Bars, Wineries, Breweries To Sell To-Go Beverages

State officials are going to allow bars, wineries, distilleries, and breweries throughout California to begin selling alcohol to-go, just so long as they agree to some restrictions. The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control says businesses that primarily sell alcohol but don't have kitchens can sell drinks in sealed containers for customers to pick up or have delivered.

The adult beverages will have to be sold with a meal, so the bars and other qualified sellers will need to partner with a food-provider.

The ABC is also allowing businesses selling drinks to utilize parking lots and sidewalks for curbside service in order to promote social distancing, and they'll be allowed to offer free delivery or sell drinks on site through walk-up windows and slide-out trays.
