2020 California Wildfire Summary

Over 7,600 wildfires are currently burning in California, according to Cal Fire data. Those fires have now blackened nearly 2.5-million acres, damaged or destroyed approximately 4,000 buildings, and left several people dead.

Officials are referring to this fire season as one of the worst in state history.

Below is a list of the all the major fires and the latest information available for each one.

Governor Newsom has declared a statewide emergency due to the widespread fires and extreme weather conditions, and secured a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration to bolster the state’s emergency response to the Northern California wildfires.
