Update: 2020 California Wildfire Summary

Wildfires continue to burn out of control in California, according to Cal Fire data. Those fires have now blackened nearly 3.7-million acres, damaged or destroyed over 7,000 buildings, and they've claimed and at least 26 lives.

Officials are referring to this fire season as one of the worst in state history.

Governor Newsom has declared a statewide emergency due to the widespread fires and extreme weather conditions, and secured a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration to bolster the state’s emergency response to the Northern California wildfires.
