CHP Helicopter Crew Rescues Injured National Guardsmen Caught in Wildfire

Sunday afternoon, a California Highway Patrol helicopter crew assisted with the rescue of four injured National Guard firefighters, who were caught inside the Bear Fire in Butte County. The rescued occurred on a steep and rugged mountain side, north of the South Fork of the Feather River, according to CHP.

All four firefighters were lifted into the helicopter from the mountain side and flown to a waiting ambulance for transport to Oroville Hospital. All of them are expected to fully recover.
