Hundreds Of Hospitals Facing Critical Staffing Shortages

Hospitals are still struggling even as the number of coronavirus cases might be beginning to fall. The COVID Tracking Project reported 150-thousand new infections yesterday. That's the second straight day it has declined after setting a record high of 198-thousand. The Department of Health and Human Services says more than a thousand hospitals in the U.S. are "critically" short-staffed.

North Dakota is in the worst shape, where more than half of hospitals report shortages. Seven states have more than 30-percent of their hospitals facing serious staffing problems in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
