Mayor Wants to Invest in Community After Deadly Arden Fair Mall Shooting

Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg said on Tuesday that he's sad that two teens were killed in a Black Friday Arden Fair Mall shooting. He also said he's also angry at how easy it is for young people to obtain firearms. Steinberg expressing frustration with those who are now blaming the Arden Fair mall, the mall security team, and businesses at the mall for not preventing the shooting.

Although the motive for the shooting is still under investigation, Steinberg said he believes it's an appropriate response to invest more money in the police in order to quell the threat of more "gang violence" in Sacramento, but he also wants to look at investing in the community to head off this kind of violence before it happens.
