Lawmakers Hope To Strike Stimulus Agreement

Talks continue on Capitol Hill in the effort to strike a coronavirus stimulus deal. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell held their first discussions since the 2020 election on Thursday. McConnell called it "a good conversation" on the COVID-19 relief package and a bill to prevent a government shutdown. A spokesman for Pelosi said the two talked about "their shared commitment" to completing a spending bill and getting COVID relief to Americans as soon as possible.
