Every single US state has been home to an iconic TV show. While some shows play up the location they're set in, some show's locations are vaguer, making it seem like it could be set anywhere.
That's why Insider set out to find the most iconic TV shows set in every single state.
According to Insider, the most popular TV show set in California is The Big Bang Theory.
The now-classic sitcom takes place in Pasadena, California. The show was loved by fans and ran for an impressive 12 seasons from 2007 to 2019.
The comedy stars Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar.
Cuoco's character, Penny, is an aspiring actress who befriends her next-door neighbors, a group of socially awkward scientists.
The show's breakout character, Sheldon Cooper played by Parsons, became a pop-cultural icon even coining well-known catchphrases like "bazinga."
Parsons won four Emmy awards and a Golden Globe for his performance as Sheldon. The show itself earned an impressive 46 Emmy nominations throughout its 12 season run.
The show was so popular that it got its own spin-off prequel that focuses on Sheldon Cooper's life growing up in East Texas.
Young Sheldon premiered on CBS in 2017.
