The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning in the Sacramento region which began at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 16, and will end on Saturday, June 19.
According to CBS13, cities throughout the Sacramento region have opened up free cooling centers to make sure residents stay cool and healthy during the triple-digit temperatures.
Valley and the foothills are expected to reach between 100-113 degrees throughout the rest of the week. Overnight lows may only reach the 80s in certain areas, according to forecasters.
The following cooling centers will be open to the public in Sacramento County:
