Lodi Skydiver Arrested, Charged With Forging Credentials To Teach

Federal authorities say a skydiving instructor involved in a deadly parachuting incident in Lodi has been arrested. Robert Pooley faces wire fraud and identity theft charges related to skydiving instruction classes he ran. Authorities say more than six people were victims of Pooley's scheme, including 25-year-old instructor Youg Kwon and 18-year-old Tyler Turner, who died after their tandem chute failed to open in Lodi in 2016. Pooley had a suspended teaching certificate at the time, but stole a digital signature from another instructor to file falsified paperwork with the U.S. Parachute Association for certification.
