Two Men Indicted With Attack On San Diego Democratic Headquarters

Two men are being indicted in connection with conspiracy to attack the Democratic Headquarters in Sacramento.

The FBI’s San Francisco office says Ian Rogers and Jarrod Copeland are accused of planning the attack using incendiary devices. Copeland was arrested in Sacramento on Wednesday, while Rogers was arrested in January and has since been charged in federal court with stockpiling illegal weapons. Both men are expected to appear in court later this month.

California Democratic Party Chair Rusty Hicks blamed the planned attack on “the broader issue of violent extremism that is far too common in today’s political discourse.”

“We are relieved to know the plot was unsuccessful, the individuals believed to be responsible are in custody, and our staff and volunteers are safe and sound,” he said.
