Drivers on California's Highway 99 were witnesses to a truly shocking sight on Wednesday, July 14.

A man's dashcam caught the scene in Yuba City, according to the DailyMail. The footage shows a white car flying through the air while a plume of smoke trails after it.

The driver doesn't notice until another person in the car starts screaming.

Luckily, he stops right when the white car crash lands on the street, and flips over several times. The car eventually lands upside down just feet away from the truck with the dashcam.

While people in the car call 911, the driver gets out of his truck and runs to the crashed car to see if someone is inside.

The video was posted to the YouTube channel The Life of Mike and Fam. According to the driver, there is another video of him trying to open the door of the upside-down car

CBS Sacramento reported that the woman behind the wheel survived. She was taken to a nearby hospital but walked out with minor injuries.

The California Highway Patrol said the woman had just been involved in a hit-and-run moments before the car flew through the air. The car was driving backward on the highway and exited an on-ramp.
